Tolkien: Maker of Middle-earth is open to the public in the ST Lee Gallery of the Weston Library (map), 1 June – 28 October 2018.

 

Opening times:

Monday to Saturday 10am-5pm
Sunday 11am-5pm

 

Tickets

Entry to the exhibition is free but ticketed; all advance tickets have now been taken. There will be a limited number of tickets available on the day on a first come, first served basis; please visit the Info Desk in the Weston Library when you arrive.

Please note: tickets cannot be transferred or exchanged. To attend at a different time/date, please book new tickets. It is not necessary to notify us if you are no longer able to attend.

Warning: This exhibition features a relief map of Middle-earth that may potentially trigger seizures for people with photo-sensitivities such as epilepsy. If you would like to visit the exhibition and are concerned about this, please email tours@bodleian.ox.ac.uk to discuss alternative arrangements.

 

How do I get to the exhibition?

The Weston Library is easily accessible by local buses, trains and coaches. The Library is approximately a 15 minute walk from Oxford Railway Station, and a 5-10 minute from local bus stops. For detailed information about trains and coaches to Oxford as well as parking, please see the University of Oxford’s guide to travelling to Oxford.

 

Where can I park?

Many Oxford streets are closed to traffic and parking is severely limited. Visitors are encouraged to use the five Park and Ride bus services. The Oxford Bus Company has detailed information on Park and Ride locations, timetables and fares.

Schools

Enquiries for UK school groups during term time should be directed to our Education Officer at education@bodleian.ox.ac.uk. All other group and school bookings should contact the Ashmolean and Bodleian Box Office at 01865 278112. Group sizes are limited to 30.
